modifications on his Zed.\u00a0 Will came to us before his most recent mods so we were able to get a fairly reasonable baseline to see the gains received from the new parts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/specialtyz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/willyb.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1270\" title=\"Willy B!\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/specialtyz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/willyb.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.specialtyz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/willyb.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blog.specialtyz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/willyb-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a>Since first bringing us his Z, Will&#8217;s mods have changed to progressively &#8220;refine&#8221; his power band.\u00a0 Below you will see small changes that have had huge impacts on the way his powerband is delivered.\u00a0 The following runs were ALL performed on 100 octane fuel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">First we&#8217;ll start off with a list of mods Will has done.\u00a0 The first time will brought us his Z was back in &#8217;09 when he had recently (2007) installed GT525 turbos along with a full 2.5&#8243; turbo back exhaust system.\u00a0 His main list of mods back then would have read:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Built S.B.<br \/>\nPorted Heads &amp; 5 Angle Valve Job<br \/>\nGT525 Turbos<br \/>\nNismo 555cc Injectors<br \/>\nSZ 2.5&#8243; DPs &amp; TPs<br \/>\nGreddy SP Catback<br \/>\nUnorthodox UD Pulley<br \/>\nUnorthodox Water Pump Pulley<br \/>\nSZ\\RPS Street Clutch<br \/>\nSZ\\RPS Lightened Segmented Flywheel<br \/>\nJWT Dual POP<br \/>\nStock IC Piping w\\ either Stillen or Greddy Intercoolers (Don&#8217;t remember)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/specialtyz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/baselinevs3dp.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1273\" title=\"baselinevs3dp\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/specialtyz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/baselinevs3dp.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"499\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.specialtyz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/baselinevs3dp.jpg 800w, https:\/\/blog.specialtyz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/baselinevs3dp-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a>So the following BLUE run represents Will&#8217;s mod list from above.\u00a0 A few months later Will came back and had changed to our SZ 3&#8243; Down Pipes and 3&#8243; to 2.5&#8243; Test Pipes (RED Run).\u00a0 Excellent gains from 3100-5300 RPMs.\u00a0 48 WHP and 55 torque!\u00a0 By now your wondering why his power drops off and is jagged by 5500+ RPMs.\u00a0 Looking at his boost curve you can see boost was smooth and unwavering.\u00a0 This is something we had seen on some other smaller turbo VGs.\u00a0 Cam timing plays a large role in this too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Fast forward to earlier this year and Will made the following changes since adding our 3&#8243; exhaust parts:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Custom &#8220;Intercooler&#8221; Piping 2.5&#8243; (Adam B.)<br \/>\nCustom &#8220;Suction Pipes&#8221; w\/ Jim Wolf Filters 2.5&#8243; (Adam B.)<br \/>\nCustom &#8220;Accordion&#8221;
