{"id":1294,"date":"2011-10-16T19:56:57","date_gmt":"2011-10-17T02:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/specialtyz.com\/blog\/?p=1294"},"modified":"2013-09-15T14:15:26","modified_gmt":"2013-09-15T21:15:26","slug":"z32-inlet-pipe-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/blog.specialtyz.com\/?p=1294","title":{"rendered":"Z32 Inlet Pipe Change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A few weeks back Mr. John G. from AZ brought his red Z in for some inlet pipe (ASH) dyno comparison among a few other cooling mods.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/specialtyz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/redzinletpipechange.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1295\" title=\"redzinletpipechange\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/specialtyz.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/redzinletpipechange.jpg\" width=\"940\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.specialtyz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/redzinletpipechange.jpg 940w, https:\/\/blog.specialtyz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/redzinletpipechange-300x170.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px\" \/><\/a>OK, I want to make this clear! \u00a0Please ready carefully and pay attention. \u00a0I know the public school system has failed many of the young Z owners. \u00a0The RED run was John&#8217;s previous best BEFORE the inlet pipes. \u00a0This dyno\\tune was performed earlier this year. \u00a0The inlet pipe dynos are both the BLUE and GREEN runs. \u00a0The reason I am showing two runs is that you will notice the top end power is lower on the GREEN run. \u00a0The GREEN run I performed with the VTC system ON\u00a0throughout\u00a0the ENTIRE RPM range. \u00a0I was doing testing for those curious. \u00a0The BLUE run was normal but it showed lower power down low and I did NOT want to misrepresent have people think the pipes lost low end power. \u00a0You can see that on the GREEN run the low end power is on the par with the OLD RED run. \u00a0Hopefully this did not confuse anyone. \u00a0 Any-who, no changes were made to the tune or boost settings for the sake of keeping things consistent and repeatable. \u00a0Between 3800 and 5500 RPMs we saw nice gains which anyone who drives there Z in the street can appreciate. \u00a0At 4700 RPMs we gained a sweet 50 ft\\lbs of torque! \u00a0Horsepower was in the 40-50 whp gain. \u00a0This is on 91 octane fuel and Sport 530 Turbos. \u00a0Any questions please shoot Greg or myself an e-mail. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/specialtyz.com\/shop\/300zx\/intake\/ashspec-planner-inlet-pipe-kit.html\" target=\"_blank\">Pipes are available through our site here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A few weeks back Mr. John G. from AZ brought his red Z in for some inlet pipe (ASH) dyno comparison among a few other cooling mods.
